In July, Mad Men will be available on Netflix Instant! You can read the rest of the story here, but evidently, Netflix is paying a cool million for each episode of Mad Men. After reading that the next season will not air until 2012, I'm more than happy to get my fix with reruns.

These minimalistic movie posters for Tim Burton's films are so perfect (except for the Corpse Bride: wrong finger, wrong hand)! I'd love to have a few of these framed in my house. You can see the rest here.
i wish i could be this chipper and coordinated in the morning. but watching these three dance around and sing is the next best thing, right? anyway, it's Friday and that's reason enough to kick up your heels. have a fabulous weekend everyone!

the other night i watched Paper Moon for the first time since i was a kid. When i was younger this was one of my favorites and i thought Tatum O'Neal was the coolest kid around. Watching it now, it's still amazing and on my list of faves, but i'm a little surprised that my parents were 100% ok with me watching a movie about a pint-sized chain smoker with a scrappy-doo attitude. anyway, give it a watch, i promise you'll be entertained.
say hello to ms. carrie bradshaw, ahem, sarah jessica parker in NYC filming sex and the city 2. i don't know how i feel about a sequel yet, but you know i'll still be there opening night. oh how i missed that gloriously disheveled hair, and those shoes must belong to me at some point in time. see more pics here.
i found annawintour's turn on letterman to be completely endearing. she addresses her public image and her icy persona with charm and grace, while peppering the interview with witty jokes and sly smiles. and do i even need to mention how fantastic she looks?
dave: let's say a person had $100 in their fashion budget and now they have $20, how do you do that on twenty bucks? anna: buy a lipstick.
wise words, lady.
update! Looks like the first video was taken down... here's another, hopefully it works!
It looks like my childhood is coming back to get me this fall. With Where the Wild Things Are and Fantastic Mr. Fox coming out, I feel like I should hunt down my parochial school uniform and start drinking my Coke-a-Cola through a Red Vine.
this past week i hid under a heap of blankets and watched the first season of mad men. everyone recommended this show to me and i had no idea how amazing it was until this week. I. Love. Mad Men. Anyway, it was a pleasant surprise to come back to real life and see Jon Hamm and January Jones in Vanity Fair, shot beautifully (of course) by Annie Lebowitz. {originally found on for me, for you}
and of course, i was saddened to hear about the untimely passing of John Hughes. i was raised on Ferris Bueller references and Uncle Buck reruns, this man helped define an era for me. this year has not been good to my childhood icons.
on a more positive note, i went to see funny people. like most of us, i adore the Midas touch that juddapatow seems to have. i left the theater not entirely knowing what the point was, but the random cameos peppered throughout make the movie worth it.
ok, that's it for now! more to come soon, thanks for reading :)
