my own little cinemagraph

Last week, my friend Jason and I spent time in a studio taking photos and attempting to experiment with video. Unfortunately the acoustics were terrible so audio was impossible to record. Instead we took tons of photos and little snippets of video. FUN!  Jason made this cute cinemagraph showing you what most people in my life see all the time... a camera in front of my face.

GIVEAWAY: SadieDeluxe x the House of Milk for Amy Waltz Designs

Hello friends! I'm super excited to be hosting a giveaway for Amy Waltz Designs with my homegirl Sadie. We had such a fun time styling pieces from SadieDeluxe with gorgeous jewelry from Amy Waltz Designs. We started at Three Sixty Ecotique (an epic boutique in downtown Chico, CA) and used their dressing room as our first setting. Jason Mackey took photos and was ohhhh so patient with us ladies while we changed, styled random combinations of jewelry and giggled over Beyonce references. Check out how we styled Amy Waltz Designs and get details on the giveaway below...
Amy's jewelry looked so effortless with our "Picnic at Hanging Rock" dresses. Eventually we moved out of the lacy frocks into some shimmery summer goodness. I loved mixing metallics and admittedly, I fell in love with all the jewelry we wore that day. I didn't even want to take a single ring off my finger!
Thank you to Three Sixty Ecotique for hosting us on a hot spring day! Thank you Jason Mackey for taking such lovely photos! And of course, thank you Amy Waltz Designs for letting us play dress up and give our readers such a fun gift!

Enter below to win a $50 credit in the Amy Waltz Designs shop! And then head over to SadieDeluxe for ANOTHER giveaway... you could potentially win $100 if you happen to be so lucky!

the gap by Ira Glass

I love this inspiring little video featuring a snippet of Ira Glass' mega motivational interview from a few years ago. I'd say most creative types can probably relate to these words. Pushing through self doubt is tricky, but what's waiting on the other side is pretty stellar. I'll let you know if I ever make it there, but in the meantime work, work work... ♥

Lately I've been fortunate enough to work with Sadie in her new studio. Here are some outtakes from a few photoshoots recently, featuring her amazing vintage finds, seriously epic styling and me in front of the lens again. Check out her Etsy shop, SadieDeluxe if you're a vintage lover, I'd be willing to bet you'll find something wonderful.

ocean child

High waisted mermaid swim bottoms exist, people. And here they are. These beauties are making me dream of summer already. And maybe an Ariel themed photoshoot at the beach? Available at Alicia Zenobia's etsy shop.

are those space pants?

Sadie Rose took this photo of me last week for her Etsy shop. She took the time to edit it to cosmic perfection, so I thought I'd share.  The striped train conductor-esque denim looked amazing and that is officially the first midriff I've worn since 1998. Cheers to trying scary new things, friends!

tintype photos from sundance film festival

Tintype photos are so very charming and full of magic. The texture and detail are incredible, especially considering the painstakingly tedious process of developing these pictures. Kudos to the uber talented Victoria Will for taking the time to create these images. I highly recommend checking out the entire slideshow featured on Esquire, including a stoic and haunting picture of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
