Ulyana Sergeenko Spring & Summer 2012

For spring/summer I'm ready & excited for coiffed hair, kitty cat eyes & ladylike dresses.
This season no one seemed to capture the look quite like Ulyana Sergeenko.
 I've been girl-crushing on her street style for a while now, but I'm even more
mesmerized by both her lookbook & dreamy behind the scenes
glances at the demure models. The feminine silhouettes,
sweet fabrics & vintage details of the collection emulate
Ulyana herself with timeless yet sexy elegance. I propose we all
play dress-up in Ulyana's collection & have fancy tea party pronto.
Who's in?

Clémence Poésy in Glamour UK February 2012

{Clémence Poésy in Glamour UK February 2012}

How sweet is this photo?
Clémence is one of my favorite French actresses,
but I think I love her sense of style more than anything.
I love the way she's styled for this photo,
especially the pretty bike avec hat boxes.
(Don't worry, that's all the French I'll attempt for today.)

olsessed

I love this uber casual summertime look on Ms. Ashley Olsen.
She looks so stylish yet laid back and comfortable at the same time.
I'm really loving the sheer neutral dress, the simple bun and the cool accessories,
including her cute pup.

What do you think? What's your go-to summer ensemble?

A while ago I read that switching to matching hangers does wonders for making a closet pretty.  It was on a blog, one of my favorites, and now as I write this I can't seem to recall who gave that stellar advice. Dang. I'd love to give you credit, mystery blogger, because I've been ogling my lovely closet ever since making the switch. I've actually left my closet door open so I can walk by and admire how quaint my frocks look dangling from classic wooden hangers. Totally unnecessary, you say? Sure. But nothing beats playing dress up in such a charming little space.

...and one last shot of mah boots, just for fun.

What's your closet like? Is it an organized and blissful haven or a whirlwind of chaos and clutter?

what my heart desires...

{photo from Miss Moss}
Paul Smith's entire A/W 2011 line:  I know everyone and their sister has blogged about this line but the casual menswear thing is really floating my boat and I've been trying to incorporate a little more mister in with each outfit this week.  Today I'm even wearing a thrifted grey sport jacket that made everyone ask if it belongs to my husband.  Viva androgyny!

{photo from design crush}
Etched Wine Decanters from Olivia and Coco: These remind me of my grandparents, who always had the coolest wine decanters from Italy.  My only concern about owning a really sweet wine decanter is the fact that I would inevitably end up drinking way more wine... hmm, maybe that doesn't sound so bad after all.

{photo from knight cat}
California Rodarte/Opening Ceremony sweater:  I'm a total Californiaphile (hey, let's try and make that a real word, shall we?)  If I ever move away from this great state it will be a sad day for me, because I really love living here.  This sweater is so cool and looks amazingly cozy.  I'm not one for spending nearly $400 on a sweater, otherwise this baby would be mine.

Teen Vogue's Jane Keltner de Valle's shoe closet:  I'm definitely one of those shoe obsessed girls and looking at a shoe closet like this makes me gasp as my hand flutters to my heart... just to make sure it's still beating.  My shoes still sit at the bottom of my closet, requiring the occasional dusting, and I know they deserve so much better.  (This is where my mom would say, "there are starving children in the world and you feel bad for your shoes?!)

Christina Weber's San Francisco kitchen: I've been wanting to add a pots and pan rack over my oven for a while now; it just seems so convenient to reach up and have your cooking ware readily available. Very classic and pleasing to the eye.  Husby, if you're reading this, take it as a huge hint!

oh. my. goodness.

The past two weeks have been nothing short of insanity for me.  My mom had surgery last week, and is thankfully recovering like a true champ, but the worrying and waiting beforehand definitely aged me a few years at least.  I've had a huge project handed to me at work, which has been challenging and extremely time consuming.  My point being that I've had no time for Milk, or catching up on my favorite blogs.  My Reader says 1,000+ right now, but I think what it really wants to say is 1,000++++.  I'm looking forward to catching up after this project at work is over and I hope you'll all bear with me! In the meantime, I leave you with the glammed-out, boxer-esque, mustard-lover shoes of my dreams...
Jeffry Campbell, you are truly going to be the end of me.

ramblings of a shoe shopper & a {sort of} give away

a little back story/rant:

my friends and i were shopping and we decided to go to Payless Shoe Source. now, i haven't actually stepped foot in our local Payless in years, because it's usually a little skanky dirty and i feel like the whole corporation saves it's worst selection of heinous shoes for this particular location. but this time the selection wasn't bad and they were having a ridiculously good sale. needless to say, i'm a sucker and i ended up with two pairs of shoes. one pair of sparkly black flats and these babies:

kinda cute, right? now, if you're thinking "wow, her feet look a little crammed" you're totally right. they're too tiny and i was barely able to hobble around to take these pictures (which is why my feet are in the air and not on the ground).

so they don't fit. i'd say they'd be better for someone who wears a size 8, and i've been searching for the perfect home for them among my friends but no luck. so maybe i just need to find my Cinderella milk follower... anyone interested? Nothing too fancy, man-made materials, gold, faux-woven. i only ask that you be in the continental US, sorry to my Aussie/Euro/Asia readers, but my puny budget can only sway so much. leave me a comment and if by some chance more than one person wants them, i'll do a drawing at random.

PS. i'm going to be so embarrassed if no one wants my cheap $5 shoes, but i'm going to do it anyway! if you've made it this far in to my rambling rant, you are truly a good blog follower and we should definitely get coffee some time :)

say hello to ms. carrie bradshaw, ahem, sarah jessica parker in NYC filming sex and the city 2. i don't know how i feel about a sequel yet, but you know i'll still be there opening night. oh how i missed that gloriously disheveled hair, and those shoes must belong to me at some point in time. see more pics here.

yellow

yellow is my favorite color. there's nothing more cheerful and fun than a gorgeous buttery sundress or a bouquet of canary hued tulips or random pops of lemony goodness around the house.

check out these other great yellowisms from shelby nycole, you are my fave, and sunny wedding inspiration from grey likes weddings.
