 I just had to share these awesome pics of my dad in the 70s. The first one I believe is here in California, but the other two are from his travels. He loves to travel and has tons of photos from his time overseas. I cherish them all.

rdtrp: long beach

The last stop on my road trip. Long Beach. My friends just moved into the most perfect (and enormous) house across from the beach. Every day was full of sandy adventures with their kids and every night I was lulled to sleep by the sound of waves hitting the shore. Heaven. Also worthy of mentioning: lots of walks, farmer's market, cats on cats on cats, cocktails in the sun, late night whiskey in a gay bar, and much needed catch up time with some of my favorite people.

 We asked Mr. Lifeguard here to pose for us, for the quintessential California image. He declined because he couldn't look away from the water. Geez. Some people and their desire to help others. So annoying. Jenneykins gave her own lifeguard pose and all was right in the world...

and because I couldn't decide which cartwheel picture I liked best, I made my first ever gif. Fingers crossed for it actually working!

A few photos from my time in South Africa so far. I have one more week here and the mere thought of leaving is bittersweet. Every traveller gets homesick and I'm no different. But this place has a certain magic that's certainly hard to deny. I might just move here and buy a farm. You never know.

house stalking: São Paulo loft

 Moving in to a new space always brings out my inner voyeur. I love getting

a peek into a well lived-in home to get inspired. Yes, I JUST shared some 

bookshelf stimuli but this loft in São Paulo is too good to not share.

birthday fun

Last week I traveled to Los Angeles for work, and I just

happened to have a birthday while I was in town. My

beautiful cousin Monique (yes, we are très French in this family)

took me out for an awesome beachy adventure. 

 

After the beach, she treated me to

peach margaritas, followed by dancing until the wee hours.

How sweet is that?!
