Mr. Giraffe should be part of my menagerie. It will happen someday.

Home of the Week: Mark Jacobs' Paris Apartment

W magazine did a piece on my main man MJ. The story is about his new obsession with collecting art, but I absolutely adore his Parisian apartment. It's so eclectic and fun. I'm fond of his eye for style (duh) and the way his art works together. Honestly, this makes me love him even more. *sigh*

great lights

Tonight on Xicui Road in Bejing drivers will (hopefully) be delighted to see a 20,000 square foot, 12 stories high LED screen showing videos.
“It’s an overwhelming visual experience given the monumental scale of the wall,” says Luisa Gui the project’s curator. “The videos are quite abstract, in fast-motion, almost mirroring the high speed of the city.” From the NY Times. Read the full story here.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria

I'm crushing on the fall 2008 ready-to-wear line from Hervé Léger by Max Azria. The bandage dresses have so much sex appeal and the rich colors are incredible, while the neutrals are just luxurious. I also lovelovelove the beads and feathers that we so delicately included in the collection. See the rest of the show here.
Home of the Week: Kanye West's Los Angeles Abode

Last year Interior Design did a pictorial on Kanye West's home in Los Angeles. My husband came across the spread online and has been ogling the pics ever since. His taste is quite a bit more modern than mine, but I can still appreciate the aesthetic value. Read the whole story here.

I've been an absentee poster for a while, but hopefully this weekend I'll have more time. Enjoy the weekend!

Nice to meet you, Olympic Games
More than 4,000 children in China have been given the name Aoyun, meaning Olympic Games, in the past 15 years. How funny is that? Read the full article here.

2008 CFDA Awards
Here are my faves from the CFDA Awards this year:

I'm usually not in to the one shoulder thing, but Famke Janssen looks so demure in this white, one shoulder David Meister dress.
Anna Wintour in Vera Wang.
Mandy Moore, with Laura Mulleavy and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte, in Abaeté.
My personal favorite: Meredith Melling Burke in Oscar de la Renta.Saturday, June 7, 2008
Lo to go

I used to ride around with Lola in my basket... until the poor basket fell apart. This photo from the Sartorialist reminded me that I need to get a replacement, stat. How cute is this???
