A while ago I read that switching to matching hangers does wonders for making a closet pretty.  It was on a blog, one of my favorites, and now as I write this I can't seem to recall who gave that stellar advice. Dang. I'd love to give you credit, mystery blogger, because I've been ogling my lovely closet ever since making the switch. I've actually left my closet door open so I can walk by and admire how quaint my frocks look dangling from classic wooden hangers. Totally unnecessary, you say? Sure. But nothing beats playing dress up in such a charming little space.

...and one last shot of mah boots, just for fun.

What's your closet like? Is it an organized and blissful haven or a whirlwind of chaos and clutter?

  1. it makes my type-a heart go pitter patter! {looking at this and thinking of the few wire dry-cleaning hangers in my closet makes me want to run home right now}

  2. I have to have the matching hangers too...though mine are not as lovely as yours. Best closet tip I got on the internet? Use old (rinsed out, of course) wine bottles inside your boots to hold them up. Genius!

  3. Tina - That's such a great idea! I've used rolled up magazines, but wine bottles sound much sturdier. Thanks for the tip :)

    Sam - I know, my OCD inner child loves it!

  6. What could be better than a streamlined, well organized closet? Nothing, I tell you! I love seeing a bit of mustard peeking out from all those shades and patterns; the polka dots look fun, too!

  8. Whoa, I guess I didn't realize how many polka dots I have in my wardrobe!

    Kimia, my dear, you should send me your address so I can send you some hangers! My goodness, green neon hangers do not sound appealing :)

  9. I love that advice and definitely love wooden hangers. My closet is interesting. I only have a small handful of hangers so blouses will have jackets and coats draped on top of them. 3 pieces of clothing per hanger sometimes. I kind of like it like that oddly enough- makes it easier to pack in the event of moving.
